Joining MVA Course is as simple as signing in using you Microsoft email address. Once you created your profile you can watch the courses available in the catalog. Upon completion of a module/lesson you're awarded points and your progress is tracked and on completion of the course you get a Certificate of Completion.Also you can add a course to your learning plan if you want to focus on some particular area of development and get yourself recognized. Channel 9 is another initiative of Microsoft where Microsoft Authorized publishers develop and train for different tech skills Most of the courses on MVA are created in collaboration with Channel 9 and if you've joined MVA that'll do for you. But if you further want to intensify your learning experience and looking to have a broad view of what is available into Microsoft's free learning caliber you can join Channel 9. You can browse different courses, access the forum also follow different developer events.
edX is one of the best MOOC(Massive opensource online courses) platform and has partnered up with the world's best universities and educational institutes. edX recently
partnered up with Microsoft and has offered an amazing and exiting series of courses including UWP Development, Azure, Office 365 and much more. Although to benefit fully from a particular course and get an official statement of accomplishment/certificate you have to pay the cost associated with the course however you can audit the course to access the contents(video lectures, assessments and discussion forum) free of cost.
